The Circle of Peace School is the first school we have chosen to contribute to building. They have a very successful history and track record and at this time, we were amazed to find out that over 71% of Africa is less than 15 years of age. Africa has great challenge and great promise. With education assistance African youth can become leaders of substance for tomorrow. They can be part of a more sustainable and peaceful continent contributing to a more sustainable and peaceful world for us all.
At VEJ we’ve continually contributed too many different causes in our own country - the United States, and we feel it's important to continue to do so. We also feel it's important to be global citizens and as such have now chosen to extend our contribution to Africa as well, for we are all in great need of her becoming more and more sustainable in every way as part of a greater world for us all. How our partnership came to be:
Kim first came across Joanita’s story and the Circle of Peace School when she found out about the Richmond Spiders of the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. At VEJ we’ve made gorgeous and fun jewelry, including spiders, for over 20 years. When Kim found out about Givology Spiders, Joanita Senoga and her Circle of Peace School she thought “What a neat partnership!” At VEJ we love being able to make a difference! What if VEJ could add fun and flair to the UofR spider mascot and change the world at the same time? So, Kim called Joanita and the partnership began!
The Circle of Peace School was first founded by Joanita as a Nursery and Primary school in Uganda in 1994, for children with no parents and children whose parents could not afford school fees. Without the school, these children have no one to care for them. The school currently provides for all of their necessities such as: housing, food, clothing, medical care, and emotional support in a temporary structure.
The School's mission is to educate students with limited resources through balanced academic and social pursuits, thereby nurturing reverent, hardworking, and disciplined individuals.

When you purchase and use the code at checkout, we will donate 20% of your merchandise purchase* to the Circle of Peace School! When you donate a set amount, it will be added to your total at checkout. It’s that simple! Just purchase somethin’ fun for yourself or a gift and you’re a partner! It’s that simple!
